Welcome to the TN River District Group!

Here, you'll be able to connect with your fellow Scouters from across the Highlands District and Shiloh District. There are several opportunities for you to strengthen Scouting's programs, grow Scouting's membership, and leverage your sphere of influence to champion Scouting through Fund Development.

Here are just a few of those ways:

District Committee

The group that brings Scouting to life throughout your geographical area is known as your Scouting District. Responsible for all program coordination, membership recruitment, and fund development in the District, you're able to make a direct and lasting impact on the local face of Scouting when you join the District Committee.

Operating Committees on the District Committee Include:

  • Volunteer Training Committee

  • Activities and Civic Service Committee

  • Advancement and Recognition Committee

  • Camp and Outdoor Program Committee

  • Membership Committee

  • Fund Development Committee

  • Nominating Committee

Unit Service

This is the heartbeat of Scouting. The group that can make or break a district. Unit Service volunteers wear many different hats but everything revolves around one, simple concept: Relationships.

Unit Service consists of all things that support our Scouting Units, including:

  • Coordinating monthly volunteer roundtables to provide information and training

  • Direct Scouting Unit Support

  • Providing a connection between our Scouting Units and the District, BSA Local Council, and BSA National Council

  • And the list goes on!
